So I decided to do an ‘September Favourites’ post for you guys as I simply can’t keep these beauties to my self anymore. I thought why not put a post together explaining exactly what they are, what they do and my opinions on them. So here it goes!
Firstly I need to mention my ultimate favourite product of the year. It is the Liz Earle ‘Botanical Shine Nourishing Hair Oil’. This product is my life right now and forever will be. I had this as a Christmas gift off my parents in 2015 and unfortunately it finally rung out just this week. This is why its made my ‘September Favourites’ cut as I realised how lost I am without it now and I desperately need to stock up. I can’t believe its lasted for 8 months. I have used this every time I have washed my hair without fail.
Next I am going to talk about is the Loreal ‘Brow Artist Sculpt’ gel. This brow gel is perfect on its own for a more natural look or layered on top of an eyebrow pencil. The new eyebrow trend is the ‘fluffy’ look where the eyebrows look a lot more natural and brushed upwards, think Olivia Culpo, Gigi Hadid, Jessica Alba and Lily Collins. [Basically Brow Envy!]
One of the newest items featured is the ‘Rosie for Autograph’ shimmering body oil. With camelina and sweet almond it sure leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. As soon as I saw the packaging from a distance I had to have it before I even knew what the product was. I haven’t actually used it to its full potential yet as secretly I’ve been using it as a highlighter on my cheekbones, but I will be taking it on holiday this year so will definitely be trying it out on my legs and décolletage.
Another new edition out of everything featured is the ‘Glow Pot’ by Topshop in ‘Gleam’. This cream highlighter is a little more on the glam side and gives off the most serious of glows [see below for proof] This highlighter I use only for evenings out its also a cream based formula compared to ‘The Balm’s’ powder formula, so depending on what makeup I’m using I switch between the two products.
Below I have rounded up my newest and most favourite perfumes. First up we have ‘Narciso Rodriguez For Her’ perfume which combines floral-fruity, amber and woody notes. Next up we have the ‘Versace Eros Pour Femme’ perfume a mix of jasmine, peony and musk notes. Lastly we have the ‘Liz Earle No. 20’ combining strong notes of damask rose and sandalwood. All three I love so much in different ways.
Next up is the coveted ‘Mary-Lou-Manizer by The Balm. This powder highlighter is everything. I can’t go without this for an evening look but its also subtle enough to wear in the daytime too. I sweep it across my cheekbones and up towards my temples, centre of my forehead, arches of my eyebrows, lower part of my nose, cupids bow and a little on the chin. All the points of the face that would catch the light.
I have been totally obsessing over the L’oreal brand lately and didn’t realise until I put my ‘everyday makeup post’ up that most of the products were by them. I love their latest design of their foundation and bronzer in the cushion style compacts. This bronzer is fab used over the foundation as a contour product especially on the cheekbones and temples, it gives a fresh dewy glow as its not a powder.
My last product of my ‘September Favourites’ post has to be my Lancome ‘Lip Lover’. I didn’t intend on buying this I actually went to the Lancome counter in Debenhams to purchase my favourite mascara ‘Doll Eyes’ but they had an offer on if you purchased two products you got a huge gift set completely free and it included a full size cleanser. [a whole post dedicated to that free set another time]. I decided to try the ‘Lip Lover’ lipgloss as I couldn’t miss out on a free set.
Also I have to mention my ‘Iconic London’ make up brush. At first I was skeptical about such an unusual brush as Im so used to the ‘normal’ foundation brushes, however this is a great addition to my makeup tools and I love using it to apply foundation.
Lastly my classic retro gold Ray-Bans, need I say much?. I decided to throw out all my sunglasses this year and these are the only pair I was left with after my detox. I absolutely love these, they look fab with everything and they will never get old.
So there you have it my September Favourites round up, what are your current favourite items that you couldn’t live with out?
P.S. No flowers were harmed during this post, unfortunately my roses died that I had off my fiancé and when I got home all the petals had fallen off so I decided to include them in the backdrop to make it look pretty.
