Welcome to my third instalment of my ‘favourite’s’ post, which you can see every other month here on wardrobewhispers.com. I can’t believe I am posting this already as it only feels like the other day I was posting about my last favourites.

So as normal I am starting off this post by mentioning my favourite product of the month which you may have guessed already as the picture may have given this away. Its the Body Shop Lip Scrub in Bubblegum. Honestly this was in my November post but I just couldn’t leave it out of this months. This has been my saviour this winter, my lips have been unusually drier than normal this winter and this has helped so much, if you don’t already have one go out and treat yourself. They have other scents too including popcorn, mint and even fairy dust which I may just have to try for myself too.

Next I am going to talk about my Liz Earle Superskin Eye Cream which Nick got me for Christmas. I have used this every night since I have had it and it keeps the delicate under eye skin so nourished and I have even started to see my dark circles fade slightly.

Also my favourite nail gel colour of the moment is ‘Evening Sands’ by Sensationail which you can pick up at your local boots but make sure you wait for a ‘three for two’ day to get more for your money.

Another new product of mine is the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil. I treated myself to this after Christmas using a voucher I had. I fell in love with this oil after having a tester from the counter and using it until I run out and I just knew I had to go and purchase a full size one. Make sure to ask for a tester first before purchasing to make sure it suits your skin.

Liz Earle SuperBalm, this balm is the go to of all balms. Dry lips?, cracked heels?, cuticles astray? Look no further, this helps all of your problem areas! If you don’t believe me go and try it.

Lancôme LA Base Pore Eraser. I had this in my free gift set I received which you can read about here. I only recently opened this as I had forgotten about it and honestly my make up has been staying on all day whilst using this, I have sadly just rung out and I am considering buying a full size version.

How amazing is my Swarovski Pen?, I have had my eye on this for a good while and I really wanted it for Christmas. Unfortunately I didn’t receive it but in the Christmas sales it went down to half price so of course I picked one up, I couldn’t resist!

My Tartèlette Tease Eyeshadow Palette is honestly my go to palette right now. Its got the right mix of shades for daytime as well as night time so is a great little kit to have in your bag to mix up your looks from day to night.

L’Oréal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation, honestly this is my favourite foundation by L’Oréal. It gives me that ‘glowy’ complexion I always yearn for and it just goes on so easily my only disappointment is that it doesn’t as long as I hoped, this won’t stop me from purchasing it again and again though!

Lastly, I had to throw in my new Zara suede shoes [sold out sorry! but similar here!] I know it was mainly a beauty post but I had to include these suede slip-ons. I had my eye on these for a good while but they went down in the sale to £19.99 so of course I grabbed them why wouldn’t I? They are such a good Chanel dupe minus the price tag.

I hope you enjoyed my favourites post this month look out for the next one which will be published the end of March.

What are your favourite items of 2017 so far?

The Outfit

Jumper – M&S // Coat – Zara // Joggers – H&M // Shoes – Zara // Bag – Karl Lagerfeld

A coat is one of the biggest things most people get wrong. A great outfit gets styled and it gets completely ruined by just throwing what ever coat you can reach to first, without really thinking about the overall look. BIG MISTAKE! A coat is the final piece that gets put on over that great outfit which is going to be the first thing people see, where as the layers underneath might not necessarily get seen that particular day [depending on where you’re going and the weather of course] but really what you should be doing is styling your outfit around your coat, thats exactly what I did here.

I got this coat in the recent Zara sale which I had my eye on for a good while, especially after seeing one of my favourite YouTuber’s Ashley Brooke wearing it in one of her videos which you can watch here. Its the kind of coat thats going to be well used and a classic ‘go to’ staple piece. One of my main fashion goals this year is to try and create more of a capsule wardrobe and buy more quality items rather than lots of cheaper ones that get thrown out within a few months. I would rather invest long term than waste money on unnecessary pieces. I picked my pieces to match my coat rather than the other way around. I paired it with one of my favourite cream jumpers which picked up the off-white ‘creamy’ colour in the coat and paired some fun faux leather joggers and my new boots from Zara which have silver toe cap detailing on them. I thought the whole look was brought together by this coat and works really well.

January Update: After being smothered in amongst the endless cardboard boxes, tissue paper and plastic bags I have finally called it quits on sale shopping.  [insert sad face] I had around £100 in Zara vouchers for christmas so I didn’t actually feel like I spent a lot this year in the sales even though I did go over the budget I set for myself… but I did get a lot for my money [haul coming soon over on my YouTube channel]. I am now back onto saving, as Nick and I are hoping to get a house this year so I have to be realistic.

I have also decided to start a new blog schedule I am reducing my content to twice a week rather than three times as I feel like with a full time job I would rather produce quality content than rush three half hearted posts out ‘just to get a post out there’. Quality over quantity right?!

I hope you enjoyed this post, How are your January’s going so far?

Finally, I have my very own YouTube channel, how exciting! After wanting to start a YouTube channel for a very long time I have finally taking the plunge into getting one actually set up and running. I am so happy that this has finally come together and the launch of my channel has actually happened, I must mention without the help of my fiancé/Photographer/Videographer Nick, this wouldn’t have been possible, so thank you.

After following some of my favourite YouTuber’s for quite some time including Lydia Millen, Ashley Brooke, InTheFrow, Tamara Kalinic  and Annie Jaffrey, I thought I could do this too. I definitely feel this is the next step my blog wardrobewhispers.com needs to grow even bigger and reach a wider audience.

Then it hit me, I started thinking ‘What if I get ‘hated’ on?’, ‘What if no one likes my videos?’ and ‘What happens if no one subscribes to me?’ but then I thought ‘What if people actually liked me?’ What if everyone actually loved my videos?’ and What would happen if everyone started subscribing to my channel? That was it, the scary ‘WHAT IF‘ thought process that started running through my head all of a sudden, but I thought if I don’t do what makes me happy and I never start a channel just because I’m afraid what other people would think then….WHO CARES!? If it makes me happy thats all that matters to me.

If my channel grows and gets successful then thats just an added bonus, as long as I am getting my video content out there, then thats all I care about.

So please head over to my YouTube Chanel and check out my first ever YouTube video ‘My First YouTube Video: Florida Holiday Style + Look Book’

The Outfit

Jumper, Bag & Jeans – Zara // Boots – Next

I know I haven’t long posted a look with this embroidered jumper but I love it so much, I couldn’t resist shooting another outfit post with it. This time I decided to pair it with light wash, ripped skinny jeans to give more of an overall relaxed look. As you know if you read my last post, which you can view here, I had my eye on this jumper for a good while before deciding to stop pondering over it and just buy it. I was constantly checking online to see if it had sold out, so that to me was a definite sign I needed it in my wardrobe!

For this outfit I decided to do a little ‘clash’. Sometimes making an outfit too ‘matchy’, ‘matchy’ cringes me at the thought. Don’t get me wrong in same cases this does in fact work, however for a casual day-to-day outfit I feel a more ‘thrown’ together look looks much more effortless and this embroidered clutch bag provides the perfect balance of creating that without thinking about it too much.

Its a jumper that’s going to end up as a staple piece in my wardrobe certainly a good edition to the ‘capsule wardrobe‘ I am currently trying to create this year for myself – a whole other blog post dedicated to that another time – [it’s a work in progress right now].

I can’t believe we are in the second week of January already. Its already off to a good start for me so far. Im working on my blog harder than ever and have lots of exciting content to post, I’m launching my very own YouTube Chanel very soon, I’m back to at the gym and I’ve given up chocolate for the month and I feel so much more energetic already.

How is your 2017 treating you so far?

 Shop a smilier look:

Starting a new year is always an exciting time. January 1st, a fresh year, clean slate and a chance to start over and do it right. This year is going to be my year, I decided that my main goal of 2017 is to actually start doing things I want rather than just waiting for them to miracleasy happen on their own.

Here are a few things I have done/planning to do to kick off the new year the right way:

After the hectic christmas period involving two birthdays also, I always find that the best way to start off the new year is to have a de-clutter, and when I mean de-clutter I mean everything. Anyone who knows me personally knows that I am slightly O.C.D. I like everything to be in order and have its own place. So with the madness after Christmas with new gifts everywhere I always like to start with my bedroom. [Especially as I still live at home so this is obviously my main room]. I like to go through each section in my room and have a good clear out, I will go through my socks, underwear, shoes, clothes, bags, skincare, makeup and haircare and get rid of everything that has seen better days or that I don’t use anymore. Anything thats good enough I will certainly sell on for anyone else to benefit. – Watch this space I will be selling a lot of clothes, shoes and accessories soon after my new year detox!  You know what they say clear space, clear mind!

I always like to get any appointments sorted out of the way to kick start the new year knowing your health is ok. I have been suffering with really bad headaches and mild migraines lately so decided to make the move to booking an early eye test [11 months early in fact] to get them checked out. Luckily I went as I need new glasses. I have already chosen new glasses and they will be ready this Saturday to collect, I can’t wait to get them I love having new glasses. I also need to re-book my dentist appointment as I couldn’t make it in December last year. I would really like to get my teeth whitened this year so if any of you have had it done please could you let me know what you thought of the experience?

I always feel like a good way to start a new year is to have a good pamper session. I have done my nails in my favourite gel nail colour by Sensationail in the colour ‘Taupe Tulip’. This is my ‘go-to’ colour as its a good neutral colour that goes with everthing. I started doing my own gel nails as it was so expensive getting them done at a salon and they were never quite ‘perfect’. I also plan on booking my hair in either the end of January or February to get a refresh colour, cut and I am also going to inquire about having an Olaplex treatment thats £25.00 which is a conditioning treatment to replenish hair. My hair has always been in good condition but after a holiday in Florida last October it feels like it needs a deep condition.

Lastly, getting fit and healthy. Nick and I joined the gym last August to get fit and have something to do our spare time. Since our holiday to Florida back in October we haven’t been back and I feel so ashamed! We started back January 4th and I am so glad we have got back into it so soon . We aim to go three times a week and an extra day purely just for a swim and to use the sauna’s. Since being back I have felt much more energised and not so sluggish in the evenings. Another thing is to cut back on portion sizes, eat healthy and for January only I have quit chocolate for the month.

How do you like to start off your New Year?

I thought I would do a quick roundup of ‘What I got for Christmas 2016’. I hope you all got what you wished for and had a fabulous Christmas day.

Real Techniques Eye Brush Set, I have wanted this for so long. Firstly I love the bold metallic brushes by Real Techniques anyway and wanted more to add to my collection. When I got this for Christmas I was so pleased and they came in this handy travel brush bag to keep them clean.

Liz Earle Hair Oil, Honestly I have been lost without this for the last two months as I rang out before I went to Florida back in October. This hair oil is my hair saviour, this is one hair car product I definately couldn’t live without.

Versace Eros Perfume, My Fiancè bought me this in a 50ml version for Christmas last year and I adore it so much he got me it in the 100ml this year and mine had just rung out over the Christmas period. Technically this one should at least last me two years if the other lasted me a year.

Narciso Rodriguez Perfume, I had this perfume off my parents for my birthday this year even though I have a lot left of my original I was so pleased to have got another as now Im not worried too much about over using my current one just incase its the last spritz of it, now I have a backup.

Liz Earle Eye Cream, This was a thoughtful gift off Nick. He knew I wanted to try an eye cream for a while and I honestly thought he was going to get me the Kiehls Avocado eye cream but I was very surprised to see he had got one from my favourite skincare brand Liz Earle.

Elemis Quiet Mind Temple Balm, Sometimes I find it quite hard to sleep, I wake up on the slightest of noises and I have been suffering with quite bad headaches/mild migraines and this balm is meant to help soothe and relax your mind. I have used it twice now and boy does it help!

Sensationail Nail Set, I was so pleased to receive this ‘top up’ set from Sensationail. I always gel my own nails now as its a lot cheaper to do yourself and because I am a bit of a perfectionist I was never 100% satisfied with having them done elsewhere. Unfortunately in November I opened my new nail primer which you use to prime your nails before gelling them and I spilt the whole pot I was devasteated!

Zara Gift Card, I was also lucky enough to get £30 and £50 gift vouchers to my favourite high street fashion store, Zara [of course]. I love getting vouchers for Christmas for Zara as I know I can use them in the boxing day sales or wait for the new collections to come out.

Yanke Candle Tealights, These smell divine and the scent reminds me of being at one of my favourite places, the beach.

Himalayan Pink Salt Rock Candle, I am so happy my Auntie got me one of these its one of those gifts that I have always wanted but never bought for myself. They are apparently meant to help with asthma, allergies, migraines and a whole lot of other things.

Purple Traveller Jewellery Holder, I received this very handy gift which I would have never have bought myself just like the Salk Rock. However this will always come in handy for travelling as I am always loosing earrings and breaking necklaces whilst travelling.

Girl Online – Zoe Sugg, I have got her previous two books and I love them I can’t wait to read this one to see what happens. Zoella is one of the first bloggers I came across and one of them to inspire me to start my own.

Yankee Candles, Yes I received more candles, people obviously know me well. This set is lovely and has a really good mix of different scents to keep me going for a few months.

Terrys Chocolate Orange & Candy Canes, because what is Christmas without these, nothing more said!

Liz Earle Products, Everyone knows me so well and I was so lucky to receive a lot of Liz Earle products for Christmas. I had a new full size  cleanse, tone and moisturise plus a lavender hand cream, body cream and eye brightening toner and with the set came this cute little note book. Also I had one of the christmas gifts which is a mini nourishing mask with a muslin cloth.

Elemis Loving Lips, I swear by this lip balm after receiving it free a while ago with a magazine I purchased I have been hooked ever since. Your lips will love you forever if you purchase this.

Keyrings, Perfect timing for me to receive these as my keyring have seen better days. I was delighted to have received these cute little silver keyring with a selection of charms in all my favourite things on.

Molton Brown Ylang Ylang Body Wash, This smells as good as it looks, honestly try it you won’t be disappointed!

IPhone Cable in Rose Gold, I love my new rose gold iPhone cable its by Belkin and not Apple so should definitely last a bit longer as it has the reinforced cable and looks a lot prettier too.

Socks, Again, what is Christmas without new socks? I received three pairs this Christmas, one with gingerbread men all over, a pair with unicorns on and lastly a pair with sausage dogs printed all over.

Chocolate,  Also pictured is a selection of different chocolates which of course I indulged in over Christmas before the dreaded January detox.

Scantuary Spa Set, I received this lovely mason jar which came with a selection of my favourite Scantuary Bath products and they came with a new scrub glove which I was in desperate need of!

Rosie-Huntington Whitley, I had this gorgeous floral printed camisole and satin short set with a matching robe, the colours are just so pretty.

Zara Embroidered Bag, I had my eye on this bag for a good while I was so pleased to have got it for Christmas. I think I have used it everyday since I had it.

Finn, The Steiff Teddy, Lastly one of my most favourite and precious gifts of 2016 was receiving this Steiff Teddy Bear off Nick he came in a mini suitcase and is just adorable. Steiff are one of the worlds top teddy bear makers and collectables. I will defiantly keep him safe and certainly away from any four legged friends I have!

I hope you enjoyed this post, What did you get for Christmas?

Well Happy New Year everyone, and welcome back to wardrobewhispers.com. I am so excited for 2017 already and its only day two, I have a feeling its going to be a good year. I thought I would kick off my first blog post of 2017 with a overview of 2016, not to show off not or to rub anything in but to reflect on what happened in 2016 and to remind myself of what I have done and achieved all in one little story.

I can’t believe the Christmas/New Year holidays are over and as this post goes live its back to reality of a 7am alarm going off and back to the working routine.

I left my job as an Interior Designer, even though I loved it I got myself my ‘Dream Job’ as a Fashion Buyer for Peacocks Head Office in Cardiff. Unfortunately the travelling took its toll and got too much and I decided to leave. However if I hadn’t have taken the plunge in taken this job I would have never been able to get the job I am in now as I had 3 months experience as a buyer to help me get it.

On the 05/06/2016 Nick proposed to me down Rhosilli in the Gower on a beautiful summers day with the most amazing vintage style ring I have ever seen. After a year and 9months together we were engaged, happy and excited to start a new journey together. This for me was one of the top highlights of my year.

Nick surprised me by booking a one night stay in one of our favourite places, the South of France for my 25th birthday and to celebrate our engagement together, what better way than waking up in Monaco for my 25th birthday with my fiancè. Also we experienced our first helicopter ride over Monaco and towards the Italian border.

Also this month I launched my blog after a very long year designing the layout with my web developer I am so happy it is finally launched. My only regret is that I didn’t do it any sooner.

Nick and I decided to join a gym together. We decided the nights where we feel we have nothing to do or to stop us from going out to too many meals etc this was the perfect thing to do instead. We try to go three times a week and use the pool regularly too. Who said you can’t enjoy getting fit?

I landed myself a new job as a Buyer for a Home & Giftware company, back closer to home. Even though I always imagined myself working in Fashion Buying, if I hadn’t have got the Peacocks role I wouldn’t have been able to land this job for myself.

Nick and I flew to Florida for two week to Clermont. Unfortunately even thought the first two days were ‘villa-bound’ due to hurricane Matthew which was quite the experience, despite this we thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

We threw an engagement party for all of our friends and family to celebrate with us. We decided to theme it ‘Gatsby’ and had the most amazing cake and cupcakes made for us. We were bombarded with loads of gifts and cards and were overwhelmed by all of the support we received. All the money and vouchers we were received we are keeping to put towards furnishings and accessories for a house which we will hopefully be getting this year!

This Christmas was a special one, it was my first Christmas off in 8 years as I no longer work in retail. I had  10 days off in total, firstly I had 6 days off then in for one day to catch up and then off for another 4 days over New Years and it was truly amazing spending time with my family, without worrying about going to bed early to wake up to work in a sale.
