So by the time this post goes live it would have been 23 hours since the Kenzo for H&M collection launched online and in selected stores. I was so excited to find out that it was Kenzo teaming up with H&M this year especially after the amazing collaboration between Balmain and H&M last year. [See my Balmain X H&M post here] The quality, fit and the choice of the Balmain collection was so good , I was so excited to see what the Kenzo collection had to offer this year.
One thing that dreaded me the most was actually trying to get hold of the items I wanted from the collection. The same thing happens every year, the website always crashes and I’m not near any major stores that would be stocking the collaboration to get too. I know H&M must have a difficult job every year trying to get everything running smoothly and pleasing everyone. I start work at 8.15 in the mornings and the collection was launching at 8am, so I would totally miss the beginning of the sales as I would be driving to work. [I was so tempted to take a day off, but then I thought that was a bit extreme] I knew if I didn’t get on the website or the H&M app straight away it would be a while until I would be able to get on, and then probably miss all my favourite items [shown above] in my sizes.
When H&M first launched the entire Kenzo collection online to preview I was a little disappointed. Even though some of the colours and prints were beautiful especially the red print crop top and silk trousers I just felt a little let down after all the hype. I honestly thought the Balmain collection was better than this one. It doesn’t mean that I don’t like anything or don’t want to purchase anything I just felt a little disappointed.
However, I absolutely love the excitement of each collaboration every year. I can’t wait to see who H&M have got lined up to collaborate with next year already. I will do an updated blog post if I was lucky enough to get some of the Kenzo X H&M items.
